Mechanical System Demolition

A turnkey mechanical demolition project was completed in the Columbus Circle section of Manhattan to support the removal of an existing mechanical plant serving floors 12 through 17 of the building. The scope involved the careful dismantling and removal of major mechanical equipment, including three (3) dry coolers, six (6) pumps, two (2) plate and frame heat exchangers, one (1) expansion tank, one (1) air separator, and all associated piping & electrical services.

The work required precise coordination to isolate the existing systems and safely remove the equipment while maintaining the integrity of the surrounding infrastructure. Associated trade work included protection, carpentry, demolition, insulated blank-off panel installation, pipefitting, electrical, and painting to properly secure and restore the affected areas following the removal of the mechanical systems.
