In this turnkey project, Prime Mechanical replaced seven rooftop units (RTUs) that serve a municipal building in Garden City. The rooftop units ranged in capacity from five (5) to twenty (20) tons and were not direct replacements of the existing, which drove the need for existing dunnage steel modifications and adapter curb installations. This comprehensive project included disconnecting all trade work from the existing RTUs, rigging down the existing units, performing the necessary steel modifications and curb installations, performing additional below-roof steel reinforcements, rigging up the new units, and reconnecting all trade work to the new units. To button the new system up, we installed a new wireless Building Management System (BMS) that enhanced operational efficiency and provides remote system control.
